Terms of use

Straightforward terms for taking part in GTA Hangout.

Adults-only community (18+)

You must be at least 18 to enter the forum, create an account or participate. Game images, videos and discussions may contain violence, strong language, sexual themes and other mature material. This is GTA Hangout’s community policy, not a claim that the website has an official game age rating. Legal and contact pages remain available to everyone.

Visitors confirm their age before entering, and new members must separately confirm at registration. These are self-declarations, not identity checks. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and assess removal or retention of associated data under our privacy policy. Contact us to report a concern or request review of an incorrect age-related restriction; do not send identity documents unless specifically requested through an appropriate process.

1. The service and operator

GTA Hangout is a free, personal, non-commercial community operated by Alexander Claes in Belgium. These terms cover the homepage and forum. Contact me@alexanderclaes.com. By creating an account or submitting content after these terms are made available, you agree to these terms and the Community guidelines. Our Privacy policy explains data processing; it is not a blanket consent request.

2. Accounts

Provide an email address you control, keep credentials private and take reasonable steps to protect your account. Do not impersonate someone, evade a suspension or use the service for spam. You must be able to enter this agreement; obtain any legally required permission from a parent or guardian. The forum concerns games with mature themes and is not aimed at young children.

3. Your contributions

You retain ownership of your original content. By posting, you grant the operator a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, display, technically format, quote within forum discussions and moderate that content as necessary to operate the community. This does not transfer ownership or authorise unrelated resale of your work.

Only share material you have the right to share. Do not upload pirated games, stolen builds, confidential files, other people’s private information, unlawful material, or content that infringes others’ rights. Clearly identify rumours, spoilers, edited media and substantially AI-generated material. Follow the linked guidelines.

4. Moderation

The owner and appointed moderators may move or retag topics, adjust misleading or spoiler-filled titles, restrict visibility, remove content, or suspend accounts to enforce these terms, protect the community or comply with law. Decisions should consider context, severity, repetition and the rights of those affected. Urgent protective action may be taken first.

Moderation is human-led; the AI reply feature is not an automated banning or adjudication system. Where required, affected users receive reasons for restrictions and information about available review. To ask for review, email us with the account name, post URL and why you believe a decision was wrong. We will consider the request fairly; the same person may review a decision on this small owner-run project.

5. Reporting content

Use a post’s flag/report option when available, or use the reporting instructions. You do not need an account to email a report. Identify the specific URL, explain the problem and provide relevant context. We assess reports and respond where appropriate. Do not submit knowingly false reports or publish someone’s private details in a public complaint.

6. AI replies and external links

Only the owner can trigger CodexBot replies. Generated answers can be incorrect, incomplete or out of date, and do not confirm a rumour or represent an official game announcement. Verify important claims and sources. Linked services and user-posted third-party media are operated independently and have their own terms and privacy practices.

7. Availability and responsibility

This is a community project, not a guaranteed service. Features can change, and maintenance or technical problems can interrupt availability. We cannot promise that every post is accurate or that every inappropriate contribution will be detected immediately.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, removes mandatory consumer protections or restricts your statutory data-protection rights. Users remain responsible for their own unlawful conduct; these terms do not make you automatically responsible for every action taken through a compromised account regardless of circumstances.

8. Leaving and deletion requests

You can stop using the service at any time. Contact us to request account closure or exercise privacy rights. Public post removal, anonymisation, quotations and necessary security/legal records are assessed as described in the Privacy policy. We will not treat a request to leave as permission to retain every kind of personal data indefinitely.

9. Updates and applicable law

Belgian law applies, subject to mandatory protections and court rights available to you under applicable law. This does not require consumers to give up a court they are legally entitled to use. We will make updated terms available and notify users of material changes where appropriate. If fresh agreement is legally necessary, an updated date alone will not replace it.

10. Independent fan community

GTA Hangout is not affiliated with or endorsed by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. Grand Theft Auto names and third-party trademarks belong to their respective owners. Fan-made or generated artwork is not presented as an official screenshot or announcement.
